Gourmet Dining

Our riverside chefs will dazzle you with gourmet, made-from-scratch meals prepared over an open fire and in Dutch ovens each night.

Since 1973 the Middle fork of the Salmon River has been a catch and release, single barb-less hook fishery, making it one of the best wild native Cutthroat Trout fisheries in the world. Fishing the Middle Fork of the Salmon is an experience of a lifetime that is ideal for beginners as well as advanced fly fishermen. The cutthroat are surface oriented and typically rise well even without a hatch on. Fishing from Idaho River Adventures’ rafts allows anglers to cast along hard to reach granite walls, behind mid-stream rocks, and along seams of back-eddies that would otherwise be unfishable. We supply all of the flies necessary, with patterns including Stimulators, Elkhair Caddis, Parachute Adams, and various hoppers to name just a few.

The fishing on the Middle Fork of the Salmon becomes very good in July and only gets better as the season continues on into August and September. We are able to accommodate mixed groups of fishermen and non-fishermen on any of our trips, so bring along a non-fishing companion — it’s possible they will catch the bug as the trip goes on.

Your trip includes all the flies you’ll need, as well as camp gear, from sleeping bags, deluxe sleeping pads, and tents to tables and chairs. No need to worry about pots, pans, and eating utensils either. Your expert fishing guides double as expert riverside chefs who will dazzle you with gourmet, made-from-scratch meals prepared over an open fire and in Dutch ovens each night.
